Briefly describe your role at Golden LEAF.
As Controller, I am responsible for all finance, accounting, and financial reporting functions at Golden LEAF. I am also responsible for human resources duties such as payroll and employee benefits.

Analytical, dedicated, and compassionate.
What’s your favorite part of your job and why?
I love that each new day presents new opportunities and challenges as I am always excited to learn new things. I also love that my role allows me the opportunity to help the citizens of economically distressed communities of North Carolina.
What is your favorite pastime outside of work?
I have two children who keep me busy. I also like to spend time with friends as much as I can.
What is your biggest work-related accomplishment within the last year?
Stepping into this role after the retirement of someone who had been in the Controller role for almost 20 years was no easy task, but I also was able to step up to manage many extra responsibilities when our long time Senior Director of Administrative Services retired in October 2022.
What motivates you to support long-term economic development in rural, tobacco-dependent, and economically distressed communities?
I was born and raised in rural Eastern North Carolina and have seen first-hand the negative impact that a loss of jobs can have on a community. Through this Foundation, we’re helping provide scholarships, increasing workforce development, and supporting job growth – all of which are vital to helping these rural areas of North Carolina.
