On April 27, 2023, the Golden LEAF Foundation hosted a funder forum in conjunction with the Kickoff of the Community-Based Grants Initiative in the Piedmont-Triad. Through the Community-Based Grants Initiative, Golden LEAF works to leverage available funding to increase the impact of awarded projects.
Funders presenting included the Alamance Community Foundation, Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), The Cannon Foundation, U.S. Economic Development Administration, Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, N.C. Department of Commerce, N.C. Department of Environmental Quality –Division of Water Infrastructure, The Foundation for a Healthy High Point, N.C. Railroad Company, State Employees Credit Union Foundation, Shallow Ford Foundation, Southeast Crescent Regional Commission, USDA – Rural Development, and the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation.
The forum featured public and private funders as well as local, state, and federal funders. The funders focused on a range of opportunities including scholarships, endowment building, infrastructure, health care, and workforce development, among others.
