Marilyn Chism joined the Golden LEAF Foundation in November 2013. As the Director of Programs, Marilyn is responsible for managing standard grant programs, special initiatives, and Program staff as they review proposals and monitor projects. In this role, she also assists with outreach and maintaining relationships with grantees and potential applicants. Her work primarily focuses on the Workforce Preparedness priority area.
Before joining Golden LEAF, Marilyn worked for the North Carolina General Assembly Fiscal Research Division, the Office of the State Auditor, and in N.C. Central University’s Chancellor’s Office.
A native of Columbus County, Marilyn holds a Juris Doctorate from the UNC School of Law and a bachelor’s in Accounting from UNC Greensboro. Marilyn has been a member of the North Carolina State Bar since 1996.
