Celia Thiel joined the Golden LEAF Foundation part-time as a Program Associate for the Disaster Recovery Program in September 2019. In her current role as a Program Officer, she evaluates funding proposals, supports the implementation of Golden LEAF priorities, and provides oversight for project monitoring and compliance activities. Celia’s primary focus areas include the Disaster Recovery and Flood Mitigation Programs.
Celia earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She has worked as an industrial engineer and project manager in both manufacturing and distribution.
Celia was born and raised in south Georgia. She has lived in Rocky Mount since 1996 with her husband, Mike, and daughter, Caroline. Her son, Ryan, and his wife live in the Raleigh area.
