This award provides funding to Harnett County for due diligence and to clear and grade approximately 10 acres within the Western Harnett Innovation Park (WHIP). The county anticipates recruiting a manufacturing company to the site that will create 40 new full-time jobs with an average annual wage of $55,000. The county also anticipates $8,000,000 in private capital investment and investment of $656,051 in publicly owned infrastructure. Golden LEAF Funds will be used for construction costs including design and engineering and clearing and grading, and for the due diligence reports for the entire park.
