This grant provides funding to Wayne Community College to expand its welding program. The College will be able to increase enrollment and provide training using modern instructional equipment. Local employers have indicated demand for approximately 250 welders over the next five years. Golden LEAF funds will be used to purchase welding equipment and for costs related to the renovation of training space.
