The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to the Town of Murphy to support water and sewer infrastructure to serve the site of a new large scale gaming facility being developed by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians on tribal owned property near the Town of Murphy. The project is projected to create roughly 800 jobs.
