The Town of Boardman obtained its water supply from the Robeson County Water System via a water main installed under the Lumber River at the US Hwy 74 crossing. Flooding from Hurricane Matthew caused a breach in the supply line crossing the river bed. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds were used to replace the line and restore the primary water supply for the town.
