A pump station operated by the Village of Walnut Creek was flooded by Hurricane Florence and Hurricane Matthew and affected by loss of power during Hurricane Michael. The flooding of the pump station caused significant damage to the pumps, motors and controls resulting in overflows and service interruptions, which were addressed by temporary repairs to get the stations back into service. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funding will be used to replace the pump station with a more resilient design. FEMA Public Assistance will be used to complete the project.
