Videotaping and Cleaning of Sanitary Sewer Lines and Manholes

Organization:
Town of Edenton
Amount:
$182,981.35
Program Area:
Disaster Recovery Grant Program
County of Applicant:
Chowan
Year:
2018
Description:

Historic flooding from Hurricane Matthew caused stormwater and silt material to migrate into the Town of Edenton’s sanitary sewer lines and man holes. Golden LEAF Hurricane Matthew Disaster Recovery grant funds will be used to repair and seal leaks in the lines and man holes in the areas where the flooding occurred. If lines and man holes are not repaired, infrastructure will deteriorate, blockages could occur which could lead to sewer overflows. Overflows end up in tributary waters, which can adversely affect water quality in Edenton Bay.
