This Golden LEAF grant will provide funding to Brunswick County to construct a waterline along US 74/76. The new infrastructure will have the capacity to provide increased water flow necessary to supply a fire suppression system for a 500,000-square-foot warehouse located near the highway. The waterline is also part of the county’s plan to extend water service to the western part of the county. It is expected that once the warehouse meets fire protection requirements, space will be leased to tenants that will create new jobs.
