Description:

Hurricane Florence contributed to floodwaters that damaged waterlines in Jones County, causing leaks that affected the county’s ability to maintain water service to customers and leading to boil water advisories. This Golden LEAF Hurricane Florence Disaster Recovery grant will be used to repair the waterline at the Old Kinston – Trenton Road Chinquapin Branch that was exposed by scouring from the flood. FEMA Public Assistance is not available for the project, because although Hurricane Florence exposed the pipe, there is not yet an actual break in the line.
