Description:

This award provides funding to Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) to support a regional truck driving and logistics program (Transportation Regional Career Kickstart- TRuCK). TRuCK was created in consortium with Sandhills Community College and Randolph Community College and will provide CDL and short-term logistics courses with transportation and logistics credentials. The partners will share trucks and other course equipment and rotate them among the colleges according to a CDL course schedule. TRuCK will provide a minimum of two CDL courses per year, per partner location, with at least 10 seats per course, serving a minimum of 60 students per year, expects that at least 50 will earn credentials, and that 95% of the credentialed students will be hired within 12 months. Golden LEAF funds will be used for trucks and trailers and training equipment and supplies.
