This grant provides funding to the Town of Mars Hill to improve the efficiency and capacity of its wastewater treatment plant and to construct a sewer line and force main to serve sites at a major interchange with I-26. Expected job creation and expansion at Advanced Superabrasives and Mars Hill University will cause the current wastewater treatment plant to near its capacity, which would limit the expansion of sewer service in the community. Golden LEAF funds will be used for construction-related costs.
