Several ditches through the Town of Fremont were flooded during Hurricane Florence, resulting in erosion and pipe blockages. This erosion undermined the road and sidewalk in one location and caused significant loss of property for one homeowner. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds enabled the repair of the stormwater infrastructure. FEMA Public Assistance was not available for this project.
