As a result of Hurricane Matthew, the Tanglewood neighborhood experienced significant flooding. This Golden LEAF grant will support the replacement of stormwater infrastructure needed to adequately manage runoff from the subdivision and discharge it into the Lumber River via an existing underutilized outfall system. Once completed, this project will reduce the area’s vulnerability to flooding and enhance the safety and well-being of neighborhood residents and area business owners. One critical outcome for the project is establishing a more reliable access to the hospital, which was inaccessible during and after the storm.
