The Smyrna Baptist Church Youth Center was flooded as a result of Hurricane Florence. Interior walls, bathrooms, as well as the crawl space, sump pump, dehumidifier, and HVAC vents needed to be replaced to remove mold and mildew. The roof was also damaged. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds were used to repair the crawl space and associated equipment. Insurance proceeds were used towards the cost of the roof repair and interior repairs.
