The grant provided funding to Southeastern Regional Medical Center to install a potable water well after waterline breaks caused by Hurricane Matthew resulted in the loss of public water utility service. The water outage affected all aspects of patient care and the hospital’s ability to function. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds were used to design, drill, and install a potable water well onsite to mitigate against future water loss.
