Hurricane Florence damaged the roof of Sandy Run Missionary Baptist Church, allowing water to enter the building and resulting in significant damage to the floors and walls. The church determined that replacing the building was more cost-effective than repairing it. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds were used to support the replacement of the destroyed structure. Insurance proceeds and other church funds were also used to complete the project.
