This grant provides funding to the Rowan-Salisbury Schools System (RSSS) to implement an advanced manufacturing curriculum pathway (AMCP) that includes training in mechatronics, metal fabrication, and computer engineering for high school students. The initiative will align with and build on an existing STEM magnet program at the Knox Middle School (KMS). The AMCP at Salisbury High School will include strategies to improve students’ perception of manufacturing careers by introducing them to the skills required for employment in local industries. The AMCP will operate like a magnet program and be open to all RSSS students. Golden LEAF funds will provide curriculum materials, facility upgrades, professional development, computers and related equipment.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
