The purpose of this Golden LEAF grant is to assist with site development and site preparation for the Rockingham County Equestrian Center. The Center will be a regional, full-service equestrian and events center to help the county transition from an agriculture and textile-based economy to a recreation tourism destination. The county is situated at the center of the major horse populations in both North Carolina and Virginia.
