This award provided funding to Stanly County to extend and improve the access road off Brown’s Hill Road into Riverstone Industrial Park, Stanly County’s only county-owned park. The new road, which was built to DOT standards, provided access to a tract in the park on which American Racing Headers located a new facility. American Racing Headers was to create 63 new jobs paying an average annual wage of $52,552 compared to the county average of $35,420 and make a capital investment of $4.375 million. The road extension was to improve access to other parcels within the park.
