Wind, rain, and hail caused by Hurricane Florence damaged St. Stephen AME Zion Church. Roof damage enabled water to enter the building damaging the electrical system, flooring, ceilings, and walls. The HVAC system was also destroyed. Golden LEAF Hurricane Florence Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds will be used to repair the building, replace the HVAC and repair the electrical damage. Insurance proceeds will be used for completion of repairs and a replacement roof.
