Enviva Holdings is a wood pellet manufacturing company with current North Carolina locations in Hertford and Northampton Counties. The company plans to open a third plant in Sampson County where it will invest $117.5 million in plant and equipment. The company will employ 79 people with average wages of $36,682 plus benefits at the Sampson County site. The company is also expected to purchase annually $35 million worth of wood byproduct not used in current lumber products. Golden LEAF funds will be used by Sampson County to extend water service to the project.
