Description:

This grant provides funding to SpringBoard NC Inc. to offer training and support to individuals, start-ups, and existing small companies to help them start and grow their businesses. It also supports the launch of a business accelerator at a new multiuse facility focused on craft beer and other industries called the Brewmill located in Rocky Mount. With support from Golden LEAF, SpringBoard will offer monthly workshops helping attendees develop business concepts, prepare start-up plans, and finalize plans with the help of mentors. Companies who complete the final workshops will be invited to apply for a 6-month accelerator program located at the Brewmill. Springboard expects 216 participants to begin the program annually, with 20 participating in the business accelerator, and 15 creating new businesses or expanding into new business categories or initiatives. Golden LEAF funds will support the costs of workshops, outreach, and marketing.
