This award provides funding to Robeson County for Project Mt. St. Helens, which is Elkay Corporation. The company will make a capital investment of $33.75 million to construct and equip a new distribution facility which will create 20 additional jobs that will pay an average annual wage of $48,960, compared to the county average of $33,454. Golden LEAF funds will be used for construction of publicly-owned water infrastructure. The project will locate in a new 215-acre industrial park that the county is working to develop, and the infrastructure will also benefit the future development of the park. The company also considered a site in South Carolina and would have relocated some existing positions from Robeson County to South Carolina if it chose that site.
