This award provided funding to the City of Thomasville to extend public sewer to serve Nucor. Nucor located a micro mill steel plant at an industrial site along US 64 in Tier 2, Davidson County. The project created 180 jobs that pay higher than the county average. Nucor’s capital investment for the project exceeded $350 million. Golden LEAF funds were used for the public sewer extension.
