This award provides funding for public water system improvements needed for an expansion of Campbell Soup Supply Company at its facility in Maxton. The company will invest $150 million in the expansion and create 100 new jobs paying above the county average wage. To enable the expansion, Robeson County will invest over $30 million in the water supply system that serves the area that includes the company’s facility. Golden LEAF funds will be used for costs associated with improvement of the public water supply system.
