Flooding caused by Hurricane Matthew destroyed the Pine Terrace Fire Station. As a result of flood damage and mold, the building was condemned and had to be rebuilt. Insurance proceeds were not sufficient to rebuild the station and replace destroyed equipment, including a fire truck and rescue vehicle. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds complemented the insurance proceeds and were used to complete the rebuilding of the station and to replace the rescue vehicle.
