This award provides funding to Piedmont Community College Foundation, Inc. to support Piedmont Community College’s (PCC) establishment of an HVAC dual enrollment program at Barlett Yancey High School (BYHS). PCC and BYHS currently offer Welding as a dual enrollment program. BYHS will provide instructional space and a lab for the program, making this opportunity accessible to Caswell County students who currently must travel to Danville Community College to access similar training and certifications and use the space in the evenings for adult learners. PCC anticipates that by 2029, 22 students will earn an academic credential annually with 100% of the students receiving at least one industry/third-party certification, license or credential. Golden LEAF funds will be used for equipment.
