Two taxilanes at the Pitt-Greenville Airport were submerged for six days when waters from the Tar River flooded the airport following Hurricane Matthew. The taxilane pavement failed and broke apart, creating a hazard for the airplanes. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds complemented funds from the NC Department of Commerce to replace the taxilanes.
