This grant provides funding to Randolph County to purchase equipment that will be leased to Petty’s Garage LLC to aid in the company’s expansion. Petty’s Garage builds on Richard Petty’s legacy of creating high performance automobiles. The company makes upgrades to and restores high-end vehicles and provides manufacturing expertise for special projects. It is expanding its operations in Level Cross and will be acquiring equipment as part of its growth. The total cost of the equipment is approximately $645,000. The company will increase employment to 63 new full-time jobs and invest $2.415 million. The new jobs will include technical, management, and other positions that will pay an average of $46,020 annually compared to the county average of $29,796. The company also offers internships to students enrolled in Randolph Community College’s Automotive Systems Technology, and Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology programs.
