Hurricane Matthew damaged a section of the Parkers Canal culvert in Rocky Mount. Preliminary engineering analysis recommended the removal of the culvert and its replacement with an open channel to relieve the closed upstream system. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds supported the replacement of this stormwater infrastructure.
