The grant provided funding to Memorial Missionary Baptist Church to repair damage caused by Hurricane Florence due to wind and flooding. The church roof had been compromised, and nearly a foot of floodwater had entered the building. Identified repairs included HVAC and flooring replacement, mold remediation, and roof repair. The church worked with the Baptist Men to assist with the needed repairs. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds were used to repair the church, and insurance proceeds were also used toward the project.
