This award provides funding to Fayetteville State University to support the expansion of its nursing program and help meet regional demand for registered nurses. FSU plans to increase nursing enrollment capacity from 200 to 300 students by Fall 2027 and grow annual graduates from 40 to 105 by the 2030-31 academic year. The expansion builds on strong student retention and the fact that 88% of FSU nursing graduates remain in the region. FSU will renovate existing space to add a simulation lab, skills lab, and testing/computer lab. Golden LEAF funds will support high-fidelity mannequins for the new simulation lab.
