This grant provided funding to Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) to expand its engineering technology program. This expansion included the development of a mechatronics program and updating equipment in the welding program to meet industry standards. RCCC was expected to host a registered apprenticeship program for mechatronics technicians with work-based placements available at 12 area companies. Golden LEAF funds were used for professional development and equipment for the two programs.
