Description:
This award provides funding Mountain Community Health Partnership, a Federally Qualified Health Center serving Mitchell and Yancey Counties, to equip a new integrated healthcare clinic in Spruce Pine. The 20,000 square-foot facility will replace an existing facility in Spruce Pine and will integrate primary care, behavioral health, pharmacy, and supportive services under one roof. A major component of the project will be to replace a behavioral health clinic at the Micaville Health Center, which was destroyed by Hurricane Helene. The project is expected to result in the creation of 24 new full-time jobs with an average annual salary of $70,067. Golden LEAF funds will be used for essential exam room, diagnostic, and treatment equipment.
