Description:

The purpose of this Golden LEAF grant is to support the creation of a multi-purpose agricultural complex that will serve as a hub of agricultural enterprise development, aggregate new and existing assets of local farms, and create economies of scale for farmers by pooling resources. The complex will provide a venue for the sale and marketing of farm products, value added processing, and storage and fulfillment services for locally produced foods. It is expected that during 2006, at least forty farm families will generate additional income from projects housed at the complex, with the benefits continuing thereafter, and an additional 150 farms will receive direct technical assistance from workshops and programs held at the complex.
