This grant will provide funding to Madison County Schools to purchase metal-working equipment to help modernize the advanced manufacturing department at Madison High School. Students in the program currently receive limited exposure to CNC operations even though local and regional employers have expressed a demand for workers with CNC-related skills. The equipment will help the school develop work-based learning experiences for students and be available for Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College to use to provide expanded advanced manufacturing training in Madison County.
