This grant provided funding to North Carolina Wesleyan College (NCWC) to establish a baccalaureate degree program in logistics and supply chain management that supported the growing manufacturing and distribution industry in eastern North Carolina, including the CSX and Triangle Tire projects that were currently under development. The program served traditional and transfer students as well as incumbent workers employed in the industry. By the end of the three-year grant period, NCWC expected to have matriculated 50 traditional and 50 adult students in the program, with at least 30% of program graduates gaining employment in local industry within six months of graduation. Golden LEAF funds were used for personnel and work-based learning opportunities.
