Description:
This grant provided funding to Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) to establish a new Light Diesel Technology degree program. In North Carolina, employment for diesel technicians is projected to grow 13.6% from 2014 – 2024, which is expected to result in an average annual growth of 230 jobs. Funds were used for faculty professional development and to purchase equipment needed to successfully operate and sustain the new program. The program anticipates an enrollment of 15 students per semester. The Connect NC Bond provided approximately $485,640 for the renovation of existing space to house the new program.
