Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Yadkin County Schools to assist with initiating a 1:1 technology program at area high schools. With the knowledge and guided practice gained from participation in the Friday Institute’s Technology Leadership Initiative over the past two years which supported teacher training, leadership development and planning, the school system is ready to move forward with project implementation. The District has used Race to the Top funds to strengthen its broadband infrastructure by adding wireless accessibility to each school. Golden LEAF funds will be used for implementation costs, associated with additional professional development, technology devices, learning management systems and other related needs.
