This grant provided funding to the Town of Farmville to replace stormwater piping damaged as a result of Hurricane Matthew. After the storm, the town recorded an inventory of stormwater issues and focused efforts on cleaning out the affected infrastructure throughout the town. After multiple efforts, the proposed Jones Street area remained problematic, leading the town engineer to conclude that the pipe had been damaged. Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds were used to replace storm drainage piping and repair the area where existing piping connected to the primary box culvert system.
