Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Beaufort County Community College (BCCC) to purchase and install training equipment that will help integrate mechatronics skills into the BCCC engineering programs. The project offers specific training in skill areas needed by area manufacturers. BCCC has identified demand for approximately 40 employees with mechatronics training in the next two years. BCCC will also offer continuing education opportunities for workers already employed in the machining and welding industries. Students will have the opportunity to earn degrees and certificates demonstrating competency in certain skills.
