This award provides funding to Brunswick Community College (BCC) to establish a comprehensive industrial maintenance program. BCC, together with local industries, has identified a need for individuals who are proficient in a wide range of technical skills, including electrical installation, mechanical repairs, plumbing, conduit installations, and the maintenance and programming of mechatronic production lines. BCC will launch the Industrial Maintenance program in Fall 2025. BCC expects to be fully operational in three years – graduating 34 students annually. Additionally, at least 17 students will have the opportunity to participate in work-based learning annually. Golden LEAF funds will be used for equipment.
