This project provides funding to support an expansion of the Mt. Olive Family Medicine Center (MOFMC) facility. The expansion will allow MOFMC to increase staff, services, and service hours to help meet demand for medical care in the area. MOFMC will add a full-time provider, behavioral health provider, and medical assistant, and two half-time nurses. Mt. Olive residents currently travelling to Goldsboro for substance abuse and nutrition management services will now be able to access those services locally. The additional capacity will also allow providers to see at least 100 walk-in patients per day, doubling the Center’s current capacity, and reducing wait times for the walk-in clinic from two hours to less than one hour. Golden LEAF will be used for furniture and medical equipment.
