Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding support for a project to extend a sewer line along Hwy. 69, one of Clay County’s only commercial corridors, to the Clay County Industrial Park at the North Carolina/Georgia border. The goals of the project are to provide the Clay County Industrial Park with full sewer infrastructure to accompany the water infrastructure that exists and to assist with business retention. It is anticipated that the proposed sewer infrastructure will spark new and existing business growth along Hwy. 69. Golden LEAF funds will be used for design, permitting, bidding, construction administration and construction costs. The infrastructure will become part of the Clay County Water and Sewer District (CCWSD) and will be regulated and maintained by the CCWSD.
