Description:
Flooding from Hurricane Matthew damaged the city’s stormwater system in Fayetteville’s Forest Hills neighborhood. The system was overcharged by high water, causing streets to be overtopped, resulting in erosion, a large sinkhole, and flooding of homes in low-lying lots. This Golden LEAF Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds were used for the replacement of the undersized infrastructure.
