Rainfall caused by Hurricane Florence overcharged the New Bern’s infrastructure, including areas of infrastructure on Metcalf Street and Roanoke Avenue. Since Hurricane Florence, failing pipes have resulted in visible street damage. Golden LEAF Hurricane Florence Disaster Recovery Grant Program funds will be used for construction and related professional fees for the replacement of existing damaged pipe and required repairs. FEMA Public Assistance is not available for either project.
