The Southeastern District of the Lutheran Church responded to prior disasters in North Carolina, including Hurricane Floyd and Hurricane Matthew. The District operated recovery efforts in Havelock, Lumberton, Jacksonville, and Wilmington, assisting survivors with tree and debris removal as well as mold remediation. Funding awarded from the NC Hurricane Florence Relief Fund was used for the purchase of materials to support the replacement of drywall.
